I’m going with Obama. The other guy at least seems to know what he is doing and is willing to take decisive action to protect his turf? Obama? Not so much.
His claims about the economy are downright nutty.
Let’s just deal with the facts.
In January 2009, just as Barack Obama took over, the Civilian labor force, per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, stood at 153,445,000. As of December 2013, that number had “grown” to 154,937,000. How many more people are working today than were working in January 2009? In case you are challenged by simple addition and subtraction, let me help you out–subtract 153,445,000 from 154,937,000. The answer? ONE MILLION FOUR HUNDRED NINETY TWO THOUSAND–1,492,000.
Important to remember how many people lost jobs during the last six months of the Bush Administration. In July of 2008, the high-water mark for the Civilian labor force was 156,300,000. By January 2009, almost 3 million people had lost their jobs. The Civilian labor force shrunk to 153,445,000. A grand total of 2,855,000 folks lost their jobs.
The picture is actually worse. I’m assuming a static population. But the opposite is true–more people are being born every year than are dying. As a result, the potential labor pool–you know, people who enter the labor force wanting to work, grows at around 130,000 people a month. That is 1,560,000 people a year. Let’s recognize that we have had five years of people trying to get into the labor force. Multiple Five times 1,560,000. That’s 7,800,000 people.
Do you understand? If Barack Obama had actually overseen the creation of 8 million jobs (and he has not) the current Civilian labor force would have only kept pace with population growth. It has not. If what Obama said was true, then the number in the Civilian labor forces would now be 161,245,000. Not even close.
This has nothing to do with disliking Barack Obama because of his skin color. The shade of one’s pigment has no bearing on intelligence. I dislike Barack Obama’s lies and delusions. At best, under his weak leadership, the economy is treading water with concrete boots on. Tough to stay afloat.
